College Stars Who Fizzled In The NBA
Every year the NBA drafts a new batch of collegiate superstars and every year nearly half of them fall flat on their faces as they struggle to adapt to the speed and athleticism of the pro game. From recent rejects like Evan Turner to veteran busts like Shelden Williams, the league is full of can’t miss prospects who have kept on missing from all over the court. Come along as I examine the top 10 college stars of the past 25 years who have fizzled in the NBA. To narrow the field I’ve chosen to examine only bona fide team leaders and All-Americans who were top 10 picks in their respective draft classes. Read more by clicking here.

You've Got To Be Joking
The Pac-10 is considering adding another team to the conference. The Detroit Lions are hoping it will be them.
Rick Pitino is interested in joining the Nets. Sadly, he’d be their best player.
Las Vegas has already released the odds on who will win next season's Super Bowl. The Lions are listed at 100/1, just behind Tampa Bay, Oakland and you.
The man who shot videos of Erin Andrews through a hotel room peephole has admitted to videotaping 16 other reporters. Luckily for us he decided to keep the nude clips of Chris Berman to himself. That alone should be enough to reduce his sentence by five years.
The Phoenix Coyotes will open the 2010-11 NHL season in Europe. Many fans are hoping they stay there.
San Antonio Spurs guard George Hill has apologized for a collection of nude pictures that were recently posted online. His AND Greg Oden’s.
The Brewers are erecting a statue of baseball commissioner Bud Selig outside Miller Park. It was either that or a giant cockroach.
The Rockets, Knicks and Wizards are discussing a three-team trade. The deal would send Tracy McGrady to New York, Jared Jeffries to Houston and Gilbert Arenas to a halfway house.
The Indians have reached an agreement with right-hander Jamey Wright. And both parties agree that Cleveland has no shot at the playoffs.
The Mets have reportedly run out of money. Luckily for them most of their salaries will be paid by medical insurance anyhow.

You've Got To Be Joking
Only 2,600 fans showed up to watch the Clippers beat the Sixers in Philadelphia. You know you’re struggling when your attendance is half the size of Allen Iverson’s posse.
At least three teams remain interested in Cubs outfielder Milton Bradley - the Rays, the Rangers and a team of psychologists.
Gregg Popovich has picked up his 700th career victory. In all fairness, 500 of those wins have come against the Nets.
Greg Oden believes he can still return this season. The news comes as a surprise to many observers who assumed Oden hurt his knee, not his brain.
Kentucky freshman John Wall has the entire nation buzzing about his pro prospects. Now comes the hard part: playing well enough to win an NCAA championship, but not so well that he gets drafted by the Nets.
A Russian billionaire has moved a step closer to owning the New Jersey Nets. He’s also moved a step closer to becoming a Russian millionaire.
The entire nation of Sweden is reportedly angry at Tiger Woods. Sure it doesn’t sound like a big deal now, but just wait until he has to start buying all of his replacement furniture at Ikea.
A new poll has found that 92 percent of all NFL players believe Roger Goodell is doing an excellent job. The other 8 percent play for the Lions.
PGA commissioner Tim Finchem believes the Tour can survive without Tiger Woods. Sure, but can Tiger Woods survive without the Tour’s groupies?
Diminutive guard Nate Robinson has now sat out nine straight games. On the positive side, at least he’s not blocking anyone’s view.

You've Got To Be Joking
Baseball commissioner Bud Selig hopes to shorten the postseason by two or three days next season. Unless, of course, the Red Sox or Yankees are in it, in which case he’ll extend it by a month.
The Police Athletic League have named Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain their 2008 Athlete of the Year. Apparently Joba isn’t the only one who’s been drinking too much lately.
The Colorado Rockies have expressed interest in hiring Willie Randolph. Unfortunately they’ll have to contact him in person since he unplugged his phone nearly three months ago.
Swedish fans delayed a pro hockey game by littering the ice with dildos. In many ways it was just like watching a regular hockey game, only with fewer dickheads.
The Florida Marlins are talking trades. Specifically, they’d like to trade their fans for ones that actually give a damn.
Michael Phelps has been spotted with Hugh Hefner’s ex girlfriend, Holly Madison. Apparently she wanted a guy with slightly more active swimmers.
Albert Pujols was presented with the Roberto Clemente Award in Philadelphia. The St. Louis slugger opted to play it safe by driving to the ceremony.
Tom Brady was spotted checking out a $145,000 engagement ring in Beverly Hills. Given the state of his injury, it might be the last ring he ever gets.
The NBA’s GMs have selected Michael Beasley to win the league’s Rookie of the Year award over Greg Oden in a preseason poll conducted at NBA.com. On the positive side, Oden was chosen as the Player Most Likely to Receive a Senior Citizen’s Discount at his Local Multiplex.
The Tampa Bay Rays have set a new postseason record for steals in the month of October. The last time Florida was involved in this much blatant thievery was the 2000 presidential elections.
David Wright and Carlos Delgado were recently granted pistol permits. No word yet on whether members of the Mets bullpen are in immediate jeopardy.
